Fair Use: ‘Escape from Tomorrow’ on VOD!

‘Escape From Tomorrow’ will be released on VOD in a few more days.  This movie made waves because it was shot in Disneyworld without permission, but that makes the movie far from illegal.  In fact, it’s a textbook example of Fair Use, the provision in US Copyright law that – generally – allows for content creators to lawfully use (copy) a certain amount of copyrighted third-party intellectual property for their own purposes, under certain circumstances.

Always consult an attorney, but you can learn more about what Fair Use is and how you can take advantage of it as an artist or producer by reading Bound by Law?: Tales from the Public Domain, New Expanded Edition.  It’s in comic book format, so it’s a breeze to read.
